These pipe flanges slide over the pipe, as their name makes evident. They're made with an inside diameter slightly larger than the outer diameter of the screw. These attachments are connected at the top and bottom of the flange via filet weld to the pipe. Usually the slip on the flanges of the pipe is given with a raised or flat nose. Since slipping on flanges involves a raised face, the standard height is 1/16 "for slipping on pipe flanges below 400. For slipping on flanges of 400 # and up, the standard slip on flange raised face height is 1/4”.
